In just 30 minutes, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a variety of effective study strategies, debunk some common study myths, get tips for boosting your reading skills and for setting up your study environment to make the most of your study time.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • apply study strategies such as spacing, interleaving, and information retrieval
  • become aware of the impact of multitasking on studying
  • highlight the textbook more efficiently
  • make studying more enjoyable

Michael Dufresne

Michael Dufresne is a professor in DeVry's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He has Master's degrees in English and Secondary Education and is a PhD candidate (ABD) in Rhetoric and Writing Studies. He teaches a variety of composition and humanities courses as well as the Gen Ed capstone course. Dufresne has served as a faculty chair and assistant dean of academic excellence and is now on the national curriculum faculty team. His passion has always been promoting success and excellence in learning and teaching.
